airports
We recommend flying into Matecaña International Airport (PEI) in Pereira. Depending on your departure city, you may need a connecting flight through Bogotá or another international airport.
For a more comfortable experience, we recommend private transportation, authorized taxis, or ride-hailing apps such as Uber, where available. We suggest avoiding reliance on public transportation during your stay. Airport transfers and longer journeys are best arranged in advance.
transportation
car rental
If you would like to explore the Coffee Region independently, renting a car may be a convenient option. Please confirm driver's license, age, insurance, and documentation requirements directly with your rental company. An International Driving Permit is not always required, but conditions may vary.
We recommend Google Maps or Waze for navigating the area. Waze can be especially helpful for driving and checking traffic conditions.

currency and payments
Colombia's official currency is the Colombian peso (COP). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and larger businesses. However, we recommend carrying a small amount of local cash for smaller purchases and everyday expenses.
As with any international destination, we encourage guests to take standard travel precautions. Use trusted transportation services, avoid displaying valuables, and stay in well-known areas.

travel documents
Please ensure your passport is valid and check the entry requirements applicable to your nationality. Some travelers may need a visa or additional documentation. We recommend reviewing official government information before your trip.
